YAKIMA - Macario Gonzalez passed away Saturday Feb. 17, 2007 at Yakima Regional Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Macario was born March 9, 1964 in Toppenish to Ramon and Maria Gonzalez. Macario lived life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Macario enjoyed playing with his toys, watching WWE, bowling and dancing and helping as an altar boy at church. And most of all he enjoyed gatherings with family and friends.

Macario graduated in 1985 from Wapato Sr. High School. He grew up alongside his nephews/nieces and then on with his great nephews/nieces. He will be remembered for his jokes and pranks that he played on everyone. Macario loved Elvis. In 2006 his dream came true, while visiting his brother in Vegas, he got to meet Elvis (on every corner), "proving" to us Elvis was not dead.

Macario is survived by mama and papi; two brothers, Jose (Beth) Gonzales and Carlos (Dixie) Gonzalez; six sisters, Maria Ignacia, Micaela (Don) Harbaugh, Toni (Rodney) Smartlowit, Angie (Dirk) Wies, Juanita (Bruce) Carley, and Susana Gonzalez; Aunt Lupe Gonzalez and Aunt Hope Pollard; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The family would like to express our deep appreciation and gratitude to the nursing staff at Regional Hospital (4th floor) and the Wapato Mid Valley Family Medicine (Dr. Minh Nguyen).

Visitation will be held from 10 am to 6 pm Wednesday with the recitation of the rosary at 6 pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am Thursday at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Wapato. Macario will be laid to rest at the Zillah Cemetery following mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Special Olympics. Macario you were our Special Angel sent from God and we were blessed to have you and we will miss you so much. LEEE!
