Joe passed away May 5, 2017 in Houston.
Mr. Fernandez was born in Cotulla, Texas on April 13, 1965 to Johnny and Ramona Galvan Fernandez.
Joe was a gentle and kind soul who loved God and cherished his family.
He enjoyed playing horse shoes, traveling and fishing and was a Steelers and Texas Rangers fan.
He worked as store manager at Super Gallo Mercado Grocery Store, Jacksonville, Texas and attended the Bi lingual Worship Center and The Peoples Church.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved parents; sister-in-law Olga Galvan; brother-in-law, Mel Martinez and a nephew, Michael Botello.
He is survived by his sons, Joseph Fernandez and wife Christina of Indiana, Christopher Fernandez of Colorado, Gavyn and Grant Tijerina of Riesel; brothers Sonny Galvan and wife Nora, Johnny Fernandez and Pam, all of Jacksonville; Robert Fernandez and wife Dashia of Lake Palestine; Sisters Belen Martinez of Cotulla Rosie Ybarra and husband Gilbert of Lake Palestine, Jannie Reyes and husband Jose, New Summerfield, Irma Fernandez of Huntsville, Sylvia Fernandez, Jacksonville, Linda Herrington and husband Richard of Huntsville; seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Fernandez, Christopher Fernandez, Austin Herrington, Randy Galvan, Andy Ayers, Crawford Reyes, Johnny Fernandez III and Johnny James.
Visitation time will be on Monday, with family receiving guests from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
