Grew up in Salem, Washington County, New York. Sister of Watson W. McCullough. Came to Idaho in the 1870s and, in 1878, married William Armistead Goulder. After his death in 1910, she moved to Whitefish to live with her nephew whom she'd raised, William Benjamin Carswell.

Passes Away at Ripe Old Age
Mrs. Anna Jane Goulder, an aunt of William Carswell, superintendent of this division, died early Monday morning from complications due to old age. She was over 80 years old. Interment was made at Conrad cemetery at Kalispell. The remains were taken away on No. 4 accompanied by a large number of friends.
