Mildred McKibben Cooper, age 87, died Sunday, November 6, 2011, at her residence, in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born in Bracken County, Kentucky, on July 28, 1924, to the late George and Dora Jett McKibben.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Elbern Leslie Cooper, who she married February 9, 1958; two brothers, George McKibben, Jr., and Paul McKibben; and three sisters, Nellie Smith, Ella Moore and Eunice Sparks. She is survived by: her daughter, Gloria (Mark) Hester, of Lexington; and three grandchildren, Matthew Hester (Ashley Buffinet), Meghan Hester and Jorja Hester.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, at Palmer Funeral Home, in Germantown, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, in Germantown. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, Kentucky 40504.
