In Plainfield, N. J., May 30th, 1881, Nathan Rogers, in the 75th year of his age. He was born at Waterford, Conn., Sept. 13, 1806. About 1832, he removed to New York city, where he was in business until 1865, except for two or three years which were spent at Preston, N. Y. In 1865, he became a resident of Plainfield, where he remained until his death. He united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church at Waterford, about 1822. His last membership was with the New York City Church; this continued until his death. Since October, 1878, he had been an invalid, suffering much, and was several times thought to be at the end of his life. His mind was more or less affected, and toward the last was much impaired. But his sufferings served to increase his dependence on God, and for a long time he was anxious to go to his rest, trusting in Christ.
