Dominic Martz, Missing From Camp Along River Near Green Ridge-Hagerstown, Md. June 4- Frostburg Camper Is Believed Drowned- Dominic Martz, of Frostburg, who with three others was camping on the Potomac river, between Hancock and Cumberland, disappeared last night and was believed to have been drowned. A search was being conducted along the river today. According to advice received here this morning by Sheriff Hugh A. Hotchkiss, the camping party of young men was located on the Maryland side of the river, opposite Jerome, W. Va., a station on the Western Maryland Railway and near Green Ridge. Sheriff Hotchkiss in company with County Investigator Terrence J. Boyle, left this morning for the scene, taking ropes and grab hooks. A.P. Flora, of Jerome, who called the Cumberland police early this morning, stated that the party came there to the river to fish yesterday. They were Lawrence Kasecamp, 21; Carleton Harper and George Whitehead, both about 30, and Martz who was about 15 years old, all from Frostburg. During the night, while asleep, the group heard cries for help and got up and missed Martz from his bunk. They went along the bank, but could not find him. His companions searched all along the river for the body. Report from Green Ridge this afternoon said the search for the body had been unsuccessful.- Cumberland Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland; Sat, Jun 4, 1932: Pg. 1
