GUIN, Ala. - Verla Stovall Martin, 94, died Jan. 26, 2007, at Daniel Health Care Center in Fulton. Services were Saturday at 2 p.m. at Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with Art Rowe and Preston Headrick officiating. Burial followed at Guin City Cemetery. Ms. Martin was born in Hackleburg, Ala., to the late James C. and Della Rebecca Stephens Stovall. She lived in Guin most of her life. She was a nurse and a member of the Guin First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Dorcas Group. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Preston Martin; and son, James Merrill Beasley. She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Fowler of Hamilton, Ala., and Gloria Pyron of Guin; sister, Annis S. Rutland of Tupelo; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
