Town of Moreau:Stephen (SPOON) Barody passed away Sunday morning August 2, 2009 at the Glens Falls Hospital with his wife and brothers at his side, ending a four year battle with cancer.Born April 23, 1953 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Robert H. Barody and the late Susan (Pellino) Barody. He graduated from South Glens Falls High where he wrestled and played football. He was the Highway Superintendent for the Town of Moreau for 23 years. He belonged to the South Glens Falls Eagles Club and the South Glens Falls American Legion. He loved motorcycles and was a past president and past vice president of the Hootch Hogs Motorcycle Club. He loved working with his heavy equipment and helping others, no matter how busy he was. He was a great friend to many people.He is survived by his wife of 31 years Mary Jo (Cardinale) Barody and their children Geremia Barody (Shannon Barrett) of Moreau, Adrianne Barody (Brett Forando) of Lake George, and Lyndsey Gargano (Michael) of Moreau; grandchildren Logan, Tye, Liliana, Brodie, and Cody; brothers Robert J. Barody (Wendy) of Queensbury and Gary M. Barody (Lou) of Pensacola, Florida and many nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at the Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Ave, South Glens Falls on Friday, August 7th, 2009 at 12 noon. After the memorial service, the Hootch Hogs will take Spoon for his Last Ride.A Celebration of Life gathering will be held after the memorial service at the Eagles Club, 80 Main Street, South Glens Falls. Food donations may be dropped at this time.Family and friends may call on Thursday, August 6th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Avenue, South Glens Falls.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, 102 Park Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801.The family would like to thank the Nurses, Staff and Doctors of the North Tower, 2nd floor of the Glens Falls Hospital, who were like family for the last four years.
