1880 U.S. Federal Census – NA Film #T9-0998, Family History Film # 1254998, page 327A, North Lewisburg, Champaign County, Ohio:
William Tribbett, age 47; Rhoda, age 41, wife; Etta B. Tribbett, age 6.

William Tribbett's name appears on page 18 of the "Hardesty's" book for G.A.R. Post #293 listing. Also, in the "History of North Lewisburg, Ohio – 1826-1976", page 21 (Re-printed in 2001, page 24), the John Briney Post #293 member listing includes William Tribbett.

Page 8 of "Hardesty's" Military Record shows: "Tribbett, William – Co. "A" – 9th Indiana V.I., and Co. "M" 11th Indiana V.C. once wounded" – no date of death provided.

In the book, "Champaign County, Ohio Newspaper Abstracts….. May 1855 to 1871", published in March 2000 by the Champaign County Genealogical Society, on page 146, for the date of August 23, 1866: "married 15th inst. By Rev. W Webster, William TRIBBETT of Knox County to Mrs. Rhoda A. STRAHAN of North Lewisburg."

Page 41 of the "History of North Lewisburg, Ohio – 1826-1976", under the heading of "Electricity"; (page 44 in 2001 re-print) "On August 21, 1888, the Village of North Lewisburg purchased several street lights and posts from the Sun Vapor Street Lighting Company of Canton, Ohio. Wm. Tribbett was given the position of lamp lighter for $6.00 per month, council later dismissed Tribbett as lamp lighter …"

Widow's certificate # 443141 for Rhoda Tribbett shows William Tribbett died on September 28, 1896. Another document states that she died on December 21, 1897. Champaign County, Ohio death record found in Vol. #2, page 531, shows his entry as "William Trippett" dying at age 68 on September 28, 1896 of Typhoid Fever in North Lewisburg.
