Juliana Dreher Unrein, 83, Hays, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital, Pueblo, Colo. She was born Dec. 21, 1933, in Rush County to Philip and Wilhelmina (Schuckman) Dreher.
She married LaVerne J. "Vernie" Unrein on Sept. 10, 1951. He preceded her in death Sept. 3, 2012.
She was a homemaker and motel owner. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Christian Mothers Altar Society.
Survivors include two sons, Darrell Unrein and wife, Norene, Hays, and Richard Unrein and wife, Gerry, Pueblo; four daughters, Verna Moorhous, Kansas City, Kan., Vera Schreurs and husband, Steve, Peculiar, Mo., Vicky Unrein, Miami, Okla., and Venita Hernandez, Aurora, Colo.; a sister; Betty Hill and husband, James, Hutchinson; three granddaughters, Lisa Linenberger, Tuscon, Ariz., Diana Unrein, Coffeyville, and Lacey Unrein, and fiancé Colby Schippers, Hays; five grandsons, David Linenberger, Gardner, Terry Jones II, Raytown, Mo., Dylan Unrein, Columbus, Tanner Unrein, Hays, and Matthew Bruner, Great Bend; and two great-grandsons, Noah and Lane Linenberger.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Philip, Jan. 18, 1975, and Wilhelmina, Dec. 11, 1998; a sister, LaVerna Herl Dec. 8, 2014; and two brothers, Leon Dreher, Aug. 8, 2012 and Ralph Dreher, Sept. 14, 1997.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Liebenthal. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, both at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine, Hays, KS 67601. A vigil/rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
