Santos was born Dec. 28, 1954, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to Pablo and Eulogia (Correa) Zayas. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He married Pamela D. Saulsberry on June 2, 1984, in Chicago, Ill.
Santos loved fishing and traveling all over the world.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Pamela of Mt. Pulaski; his son, Alejandro Zayas of Mt. Pulaski; two brothers, Jose (Maria) Zayas of Lake Placid, Fla., and Pablo (Maria) Zayas of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters: Carmen (Milton) Rodriguez of Lake Placid, Fla., Rafaela Zayas of Berwyn, Ill., and Ruth Zayas of Allentown, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 12 siblings.
The family will be hosting a memorial service to celebrate the life of Santos Zayas at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at the United Pentecostal Church, 1422 Pekin Street, Lincoln, IL 62656.
