OBITUARY
Mrs. J. E. Berglund
Carrie Louise Wistrom was born in the Swede Bend community, southwest of Stratford, Oct. 5, 1881, and passed away at her home in the same neighborhood, Dec. 12, 1928, at the age of 47 years, 2 months, 7 days.
On March 30, 1905, she was united in marriage to Emil Berglund. To this union eight children were born, the eldest, Mabel, passing away in infancy. The seven surviving children, who with the husband and father are left to mourn her early death are: Raymond, Paul, Marie, Carl, Elsie, Velva and Ardelle. One sister, Mrs. Harry Magnuson, of this community, also survives.
Mrs. Berglund was a kind and loving wife and mother, devoted to her house and her family. Although her health was not good, she was always willing to sacrifice herself to help those who were near and dear to her as well as to aid her friends and neighbors. She was a member of the Mission church, a true Christian and she was ready to answer the summons of her Saviour.
On Monday of last week, she was taken ill with the flu and the attack proved fatal a few days later for in her weakened condition she was not able to withstand the severity of the disease.
Funeral services were held from the family home at 1 o'clock Sunday and from the Swede Bend Mission Church at 1:30 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. F. O. Abraham, of Pilot Mound. Interment was made in the Hardin Township Cemetery.
