Geraldine "Geri" Hatton Buchanan, age 65, former employee of SMC and Accutran, wife of Stanley L. Buchanan, Jr., died Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was born September 22, 1947, in Richmond, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Irvine and Viola Winburn Hatton. Geri was a graduate of Bourbon County High School and a member of Trinity First Church of God.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: a son, Chad J. Buchanan, of Lexington; two sisters, Charlotte (David) Creech, of Richmond, and Pauline Masters, of Lexington; two nieces, Jennifer (Nicholas) Morris and Sarah (Alan) Brinegar; two nephews, Anthony Creech and Bryan Masters; and a great-nephew, Justin Morris.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. William E. Singleton and Rev. Bob Dickerson, with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Lindsay Prebble, Clayton Richards, Jim Clough, Barry Barnes, James Grace and Steve Roy. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
