Rose Ellen Boyd, 78, of Palatka, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was a native and longtime resident of Palatka. She was a 1957 graduate of Palatka Senior High School. She was a jack-of-all-trades, including being a bookkeeper, criminal records clerk for Alachua County and having worked in construction. Along with her former husband, Albert Feagle, she owned and operated Feagle Floor Service in Gainesville and was the bookkeeper for the former Brunner's Lumber Co. in East Palatka. She enjoyed bingo, quilting, family history and her puppy dog, "Angel." She was a member of USS Sub Vets in Palatka and Putnam County Genealogy Society in Palatka.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Maude Smith; stepmother, Adus Smith; two husbands, Allen Sweat and Arlan Boyd; two sons, Wayne Hand and Anthony Feagle; two sisters, Iris Waldock and Marjorie Haddock; a grandson, David Hand Jr.; a niece and her spouse, Renee and Donnie Cox; and three brothers-in-law, Ralph Garmon, Bernard Wells and Raymond Waldock.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, William David Hand of Callahan and Wendell Allen and Christine Hand of Jacksonville; a sister Doris Wells of Wisconsin; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Thursday, Oct. 27 at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor Bill Keith officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill East Cemetery. (Palatka Daily News Obituary did 25 Oct 2016.)
