Mila J'Nine Bernethy died on June 9, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on March 5, 1954 to Bob and Berneil Eby and lived in Aberdeen, Washington her entire life. Mila was previously employed by SPIFA in Elma and the BIA with the Hoh Tribe.

She is survived by her husband, Tim; two sons, Kelly and Kylle (Shawnette); two sisters, Roberta Myers and Kathy Carnine; a brother Dana (Jodi) and a cousin, Angie Deatherage.

Mila was known for her spunk, compassion and humor. "Bulldog" was her CB handle. She believed in her Bible and her guns and was a dead shot. Mila loved to ski, country dance, and play practical jokes. She loved her family and friends passionately, and we will all miss her.

One of Mila's greatest passions was researching her family genealogy. For years she spent an incredible amount of time and energy investigating details about ancestors in the Eby, Bernethy, Scribner and Hord familys. She stored the pedigree for each family member in an on-line data base (refer to the link) which contains more than 60,000 entries. Also included in her database are many albums containing thousands of photos. Her database is a very valuable heirloom and a legacy of which she was very proud.

Moreover, Mila was a dedicated member of Find a Grave (#46835770), an Ancestry.com on-line database containing memorials to millions of ancestors worldwide. She created and maintained more than 800 memorials on this site. Judging from her large number of public messages she assisted hundreds of people seeking to upgrade memorials on Find a Grave.
