Maxine E. Newcomb, 82, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at Lutheran Community Home.

Born Feb. 8, 1934, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Matilda Hackman Eggersman. She married Fred Hollis Newcomb on Jan. 17, 1964.

Maxine was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She retired from Indiana Telephone Corp. after 22 years of service.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Otte Simmons; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; her sisters; Mildred Thiele, Wilma Benter and Geneva Hoene; and two brothers.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel with the Revs. Ralph Blomenberg, Philip Bloch and James Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Friends and family may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to the Sauers Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
