MURPHYSBORO — Geraldine Scranton, 75, formerly of Creal Springs, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, in Terra Haute Regional Hospital in Terra Haute, Indiana.
Geraldine was born Oct. 16, 1941, in Murphysboro, to Gerald Grammer and Wilma (Blake) Grammer.
She was a homemaker. She and her husband Kenny enjoyed eating, travelling and going to theater shows.
Geraldine was married to Paul "Kenny" Scranton and he preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 2004.
She is survived by four children, Timothy Stewart of Phoenix, Arizona, Todd Stewart and his wife, Kim, Stewart of Murphysboro, Travis Stewart and his wife, Johnna, Stewart of Creal Springs, and Kendra Priddy and her husband, Sean, of Valdosta, Georgia; 11 grandchildren, T. C. Stewart and his wife, Stephanie, Stewart, Cory Stewart, Taylor Stewart, Sean Stewart, Aarika Matusik and her husband, Joe, Marusik, Trey Stewart, Tristian Stewart, Trevor Stewart, Tony Stewart, Josh Priddy and Tatyana Priddy; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley McNeil of Murphysboro.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Terry Stewart and Tracy Stewart, and her parents.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, in Pettett Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin McNeely officiating. Burial will be in Dutch Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
