Daughter of Richard Durrett and Sarah Hampton.

Her father bought 300 acres on the south side of the Rapidan River, on July 20, 1738, near Charlottesville, Virginia. He grew tobacco. He was a colonel during the Revolutionary War.

Frances married Frederick William Wills on April 3, 1763. After he died, in 1796, she got remarried to a man named Original Young, on February 11, 1800. They were seen in the 1810 Census Report, living in Clark County, Kentucky. However, it was said that they did not get along, and they separated, sometime before 1820. It was said that her son John obtained guardianship of her youngest son, 8-year-old Durrett, to keep the child away from Original. Frances may have gone back to using the last name of Wills. It is believed that she then moved in with her son Isaac and his family, where she lived until her death.

There are numerous sources that document Frances' marriage to Original Young, including geni.com, myheritage.com, and worldfamilies.net. There is also documentation in "The Virginia Genealogist," under the section for her father, "Richard Durrett of Albemarle County, Virginia. It reads... "Frances Durrett, died 3, June 1831, Clark Co., Ky, 84. She married first, before 1765, Frederick William Wills, who died in Clark Co, KY, leaving a will dated 20 Dec 1795 and recorded 26 Jan 1796. She married second, 11 Feb 1800, Clark Co, KY, Original Young."

One of Original Young's descendants, George Young, posted information on an Ancestry.com board (durrett, wills,) that Frances married Original, who was his 4G grandfather. A woman named Patt Hotchkiss also posted on an Ancestry.com board that Frances married Original.
