ANGELICA "ANGIE" ARTHUR of Houston, Texas, passed away October 31, 2006 at age 90. Born October 18, 1916 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico to Luis and Ninfa Vega, Angie was raised in San Antonio, TX. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Andres F. Arias, second husband, Chester A. Arthur, and son, Gilberto Arias. She is survived by her son Andres Arias; daughters, Yolanda Hughey, Sandra Quisenberry and their spouses, as well as 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Angie was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a past member of the Conservative Arts of Houston and left a legacy of many oil paintings to her family and friends. She was equally proud of her Hispanic heritage and American citizenship. Angie was a beautiful person on the inside as well as the outside. She will be greatly missed. The family expresses thanks to Vitas Hospice and Carla Martinez for their support and help during Angie's final days. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Brookside Funeral Home Champions. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, November 3, 2006 at the Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home Champions with a reception to follow. A private interment will take place at Houston National Cemetery.
