William Thorne (sic), born 1777, died 16 Oct 1848. (His gravestone clearly says Thome and not Thorne.) He married Margaret Hays on 14 Jan 1816 at Old Hanover Church. William Thom (sic) was a member of the church 1802-1842 and John Thome was 1802-1815. William and Margaret "ThoRNe's" (sic) gravestone dates are listed. Beside the title page: William Thome had a pew in 1800, #44 in the Plan of Hanover Church (was this his, or a possible father?). The Historical Sketch of Old Hanover Church by Rev. Thomas H. Robinson, D.D., published in 1878 by the Historical Society of Dauphin County, pages 19, 26, 27, 35, 36.
William Thome ws listed on the 1790, 1800 and 1810 censuses in Dauphin Co., PA. 1810 was in East Hanover Twp in same county. In 1830, William Tom was in East Hanover Twp.
See group shot of graves. William's is on the left and Margaret's is on the right. In front of them, their foot stones say W----T and M----T. William's foot stone is engraved on the reverse side. His wife Margaret is buried on the right. They are both next to the west wall.
