Sr. Airman Jonathan “Jon” J. DeCoe, 21, of Vassar, died unexpectedly, Thursday, June 16, 2016 while stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. He was born April 13, 1995 in Pontiac, son of Thomas J. and Michelle M. (Wyllie) DeCoe of Vassar. Jon was a graduate of St. Michael’s Lutheran School in Richville and later graduated from Vassar High School in 2013. While at St. Michael’s, he played on various sports teams and played football at Vassar High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force in July of 2013. His sense of humor, kind heartedness, adventurous and sentimental nature will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Due to his strong faith, he will prepare a place for us in heaven. We are looking forward to being reunited with this great man in the future.

Surviving besides his parents, Tom and Michelle, is his sister, Rachel DeCoe, and his grand-parents, Thomas M. and Janet M. DeCoe and Gordon H. and Avalene J. Wyllie, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 from St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Richville. Reverend Rob Gadeken and Rev. Wesley Gillaspie will both officiate with committal services to follow in the St. Michael’s Cemetery.
