Lifelong resident of Clayton, she was active in numerous community affairs and especially noted for her musical talent.
A 1947 graduate of Clayton High School, she served this year as a chairman of the 45th anniversary reunion of her class but was unable to attend.
She served as organist at the First Baptist Church in Clayton for 19 years and at the First Methodist Church in Clayton for the last seven years.
Survivors include her husband W. L. Gibbs whom she married on Jan 7, 1949; two sons, Lewie Gibbs Jr. and Jeff Gibbs both of Wichita Falls, Texas. Her mother Ruby, brother Bob and a sister Beverly Macrum. She was preceded in death by her father Tony in 1964, her brother Tony Jr. in 1945 and a daughter Toni in 1985.
