Annabelle Dean, 83, of Dover died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in the Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.Born September 26, 1932 in Akron she was a daughter of the late Harry Gibbs and Belle Riddle Emerson.Annabelle retired in 1988 from Norgas after 23 years of service. She was a member of the Dover Alliance Church where she served as the Sunday school Secretary and Treasurer and also was a greeter. Annabelle and Thomas loved camping and were members of the Tusco Traveliers, and she was the Past First Lady of the Akron Unit of the Airstream Club where she enjoyed teaching crafts.Annabelle will be sadly missed by her husband of 65 years, Thomas A. Dean whom she married on July 12, 1950; children, Betty (Greg) Weigand of Dover, Richard (Carol) Dean of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Michael (Kelli) Weigand of Columbus, Dr. Brooke Dean of St. Paul, Minnesota; sisters, Betty (Bill) Bidinger, Virginia (Ed) Diefenbaugh both of Dover, Myrtle Edwards of Somerset, Kentucky and brother, Bill (Carol) Gibbs of Newcomerstown.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 10 at 11:00 am in the Dover Alliance Church with Rev. Richard Rose officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Monday from 5-7 pm.
