Frank Montondo, Richland's Oldest Citizen Passed Away

Pulaski, Oct. 23.—Frank Montondo, 95, one ot the oldest residents of the eastern section of Oswego county, who had been ill about four weeks, died Thursday night at the home of his son, George H. Montondo, Lehigh district, where he made his home.

Death was due to infirmaties of age. Notwithstanding the fact that he .had nearly reached the century mark and passed the allotted time of man by more than a quarter of a century. Mr. Montondo had been quite active up to a short time ago.

He was born July 3, 1825, in Canada and had been a resident in this section of the country about 52 years.
He had always followed farming.

Surviving are four sons and a similar number of daughters. They are George H. Montondo of Lehigh District, William Montondo of Pulaski, Frank Montondo of Syracuse, Walter Montondo of Lehigh district, Mrs. Danial Mattison, and Mrs. William Little of Altmar, Mrs. John Trumball of Lehigh District and Mrs. John Robinson of this town.

Funeral services will be held from the house, three miles cast of Pulaski, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, at which the officiating clergyman will he Rev. C. Montgomery Budlong, rector of St. James Episcopal church, Pulaski. Burial will be made in Riverside cemetery

***note many variations of surname over the generations. Started as Montondon going to Montondo as well as Montando. The family originated from France migrating to Montreal then to Jefferson County back to Quebec again back to Watertown NY finally the massive siblings separated aortic during the Civil war with this branch altering the name into Montondo/Montando
