I believe you have Samuel Schooley in the wrong cemetery. The Kingwood Memorial clearly stays that he died and was buried in the area (verge) of Mendham Meeting. The is the cemetery listed as “Friends Cemetery” in Morris County. The Friends did not erect markers at this time. All of the early graves are unmarked. But the Mendham burial ground was purchased in 1758, so it would have been in use in 1761. I have to check, but this may be the first burial at this site. If not, it is certainly one of the earliest.
If you have done any work on the Schooley family, I would be interested in corresponding with you. The Schooleys were living in both the Hardwick and Mendham area. I am trying to find out more about William Schooley jr., son Samuel’s brother, William Schooley.
