Samuel Barron was born on 28 August 1767, the son of William and Prudence Barron. Samuel Barron first appears on the 1790 Wilkes County Georgia Tax Digest, paying taxes on 280 acres of land, presumably his mother's farm. He purchased land from his mother in July 1796, and then in October, he served as one of his mother's executors.

Samuel Barron married to Jane (Jain) Miller on 8 July 1790. She was the daughter of Alexander and Eleanor Miller of Greene County Georgia. The Millers had resided in Wilkes County near the family of Prudence Barron before their migration to Greene County in the latter 1780s.

Samuel Barron moved to Greene County in the early 1790s, settling in the portion that became Hancock County in late 1793, near the Oconee River.

Samuel Barron died on 16 December 1801. His brother, John Barron, administered his estate. More information on Samuel Barron is found here:

Gravesite Details

Samuel Barron supposedly buried on property now in possession of the widow of Otis Redding. She has denied access to the burial site.
