Grandma Lesovsky was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia to Frank and Marie Novak Shipek. A brother died at birth before Mary's birth. Later, after the family immigrated to the United States, she was to have one more sister and three brothers, plus two more half-sisters and two more half-brothers that were born after her mother's death about 1883.
She married Anton Bohumil Lesovsky on 25 February 1888. To this union were born 7 children: twins who died at birth, one daughter, Emma Mollie, and four sons, William Norbert, Edward Robert, Elmer Ben, and Frank J.
Mary Shipek Lesovsky was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Anton, as well as her first born twins and her son, Edward, who died during the flu epidemic of 1918. Also preceding her in death were three brothers and one half-brother. She was survived by her daughter, Mrs. Louis J (Emma) Svach, and three sons: William Leshovsky, Elmer Lesovsky, and Frank J. Leshosky. She was also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
