William Hannah was a member of one of University of Alabama football's most famous families. Baby brother of Herb Hannah, and uncle of NFL greats John and Charles, Bill was a greatly loved and respected football coach. His career spanned high school (La Puente High), Jr. College (Mt. San Antonio), and finally, Cal State Fullerton. Bill's life tragically ended in a small plane crash while returning from a scouting trip. At the time of his death, Bill was the proud father of a newly adopted baby boy. Bill is fondly remembered and loved by every young student and athlete he taught and coached - from his beloved football players to his students in geogrpahy class, Bill was adored by everyone who knew him. Although his football career was eclipsed by his very famous nephews (whom he adored and was so proud of), Bill touched many young lives. He instilled pride and perseverence and the will to be the best. He made them believe they could achieve anything they wanted badly enough.
