Frank Strzalka, 72, of Naples, Fla., died Jan. 18 at Hospice House, Naples. His loving companion is Barbara Literacki.

Born in Peckville on May 13, 1942, son of the late John and Nellie Jover Strzalka, Frank graduated from Blakely High School and was very active in the band and chorus. He studied to be a mechanical engineer and first attended Stevens Institute in New Jersey. Then he attended and graduated from General Motors Institute in Flint, Mich. He worked for many years at General Motors in Detroit. He then worked at Hyatt Bearing in Sandusky, Ohio, and Dubois, Pa. He then moved to Houston, Texas, where he got his master's degree in engineering at the University of Houston. In Houston, he was employed by Hal Burton and Dresser Industries. On retirement he moved to Sterling Heights, Mich., and then to Naples.

He is survived by a sister, Anella Fry; two stepsons, Jim and Bob Brenner; and Barbara's son, Bob Literacki.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Brenner Strzalka; a stepdaughter, Susan Wilson; a sister, Regina Yaron Swika; and a brother, the Rev. John Strzalka.

Funeral arrangements were by Garfield Cares & Cremation Services in Naples.
