Memorial for thirteen anti-fascists fighters who were murdered during Francisco Franco's dictatorship. This was one of the most tragic episodes of the repression that began when the Spanish Civil War was over. The victims, all young women, were imprisoned, tortured and killed in reprisal for their defense of the Spanish Republic. The names of "The Thirteen Roses" are: Carmen Barredo Aguado, Martina Barroso García, Blanca Brissac Vázquez, Pilar Bueño Ibáñez, Julia Conesa Conesa, Adelina García Casillas, Elena Gil Olaya, Virtudes González García, Ana López Gallego, Joaquina López Lafitte, Dionisia Manzanero Salas, Victoria Muñoz García and Luísa Rodríguez de la Fuente. Julia Conesa left a final letter which ends with these words: "They will kill me as an innocent. I will die like an honest person. My name will not be erased from history". Several books have been written about their story.
