Ritu Sachdeva, a very beloved young lady, died at age 17.
In early afternoon of Saturday January 30th , 2016, at St. Methodist Hospital in Richardson, TX, the doctor pronounced the death of Ms. Ritu Sachdeva. Ritu was born on May 6th, 1998 in Plano, TX and grew up in the Plano and Murphy areas of Dallas. She was in her final semester at Plano East Senior High School and was looking forward to going to university later in fall.
Ritu was an extremely loving and cheerful person with a bright smile and sparkling eyes. She was a great sister and a friend to her older sister Suchi. She was also very close to her mother and father. Almost everyone in her school seemed to know her or at least know of her. Ritu went out of her way to help people and was involved with many activities towards helping herself and others achieve their goals. Ritu truly loved animals – especially dogs. She spoilt family dogs Abby and Simba, and was always lobbying to adopt more dogs. She loved to read, listen to music, go to museums, travel, and in general have a good time. She was analytical, loved art history and was especially interested in neuroscience. Over the past few summers, she participated in the Duke TIP program where she developed great friendships and a keen interest in genetics. Ritu wanted to pursue a career in the Biomedical field and had already been admitted to a few colleges of her choice. She was very excited and looking forward to continuing her education and doing research in these areas. Science wasn’t her only forte as she knew how to make people happy through her creative side as well. Ritu would always give little gifts to people whenever something reminded her of them and often painted and made hand-made gifts for family and friends. Her laughter was very hearty and contagious, which went perfectly with her huge smile and her quirky demeanor.
Ritu leaves behind her sister Suchi Sachdeva, her mother Prachi Sachdeva, her father Rajesh Sachdeva and maternal grandparents Usha and Ramesh Chaturvedi. Uncles and aunts include Madhu and Khushi Kalra, Ruchi and Pranay Jain, Tripti and Shashank Chaturvedi. Her numerous relatives, teachers, and friends will all certainly miss her as well.
The memorial will be held on Sunday February 7th 2016 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home with an open casket. The address is 2925 5th Street, Sachse TX 75048, Phone (972) 414 5050. A private cremation will be held at a later date.

Two Dallas-area high school friends believed to have killed themselves hours apart may have made a suicide pact,

Ritu Sachdeva and Hillary Kate Kuizon, two 17-year-old girls from Plano East Senior High School, were both found dead in Murphy early Sunday,

Detectives are searching for any links in the two teens’ deaths after Sachdeva’s body was found just after midnight in her home and Kuizon’s was discovered hours later in a wooded area,

“If that happened that there was some sort of pact, we need to know that because it may lead to further tragedies such as this one,” . “We don’t know if it was but we don’t want to discount the possibility offhand.”
