Son of Benjamin Franklin Rockwell and Sarah Ann Swezey, husband of Elizabeth McCormack, whom he married September 16, 1896, and father of Mary Florine (married Carr), George Dewey, Margaret E. (married Frank C. Suda), Jane A., Robert Jacob and John McCormack Rockwell.

Obituary - Captain Jacob Rockwell, 91, of 41 Swezey Street, Patchogue, died at his home on Monday.

Born in Patchogue, Captain Rockwell was a lifelong resident here and plied the coastal waters on freight ships. He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Francis de Sales' R.C. Church, Patchogue.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank Carr of Patchogue, and Miss Jane Rockwell of Monticello; two sons, George D. Rockwell of Riverhead and Robert J. of Patchogue; a brother, Frank Rockwell, also of Patchogue; several nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Rosary was held at the Pettit Funeral Home in Patchogue at 8 p.m. yesterday, and a Solemn Requiem Mass will be offered at St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church, Patchogue, at 10 a.m. today. Interment will take place at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram.
