Harold George Collmenter age 82 of Homer passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 in Battle Creek. He was born December 4, 1933 in Albion the son of George and Blanche (Ridgeway) Collmenter. He married Olga Egnatuk on June 23, 1956 and she preceded him in death on November 7, 2006. Harold was also preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Daniel O'Dell and brother-in-law, Keith Schlottman.
Harold faithfully served our country in the U.S. Air Force retiring after 20 years of service. He also worked on the Ivan Fast farms in Homer and drove school bus for Homer Schools for 17 years. He was a member of Cook's Prairie Baptist Church, member of School Teachers and Personnel, enjoyed golfing, reading, walking and most all, serving the Lord.
He leaves to cherish his memory son, Jacob (Melissa) Collmenter; daughters, Deborah Collmenter and Mary O'Dell; 5 grandchildren: Joshua, Cody (Stephanie), Zachary (Crystal) Collmenter, Anna and Caleb O'Dell; 3 great grandchildren: Levi, Aubrey and Clay Collmenter; and sister, Geraldine Schlottman.
Harold's family will celebrate his life on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Cook's Prairie Baptist Church, 6020 23 Mile Rd., Homer with Pastor Jerry Noseworthy officiating. Interment with full Military Honors to follow at Albion Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, January 25, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cook's Prairie Baptist Church.
