Mrs. Cheryl Dietz Simonds, age 48 of McDonough, Georgia passed away January 11, 2016. She was born in Kingsville, Texas to John Dietz, Jr. and the late Caroline Lee Anderson Dietz. Cheryl, also known as Cheri was a member of Salem Baptist Church and worked for the Henry County Tax Commissioner’s Office. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and watching QVC and the Cooking Channel. Above all, Cheri enjoyed time with her family. Survivors include her husband of nearly 30 years, Lance Simonds; children, Lydia Simonds and Luke Simonds all of McDonough; father, John Dietz, Jr. of Fayetteville; brother, Greg (Michelle) Dietz of Douglasville; in laws, Walter L. and Jane Simonds of Newnan; sisters in law, Carolynann Cody of Newnan and Kelly (Chris) Sims of McDonough; seven nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10:30 am from Salem Baptist Church. Mr. Lance Simonds and Rev. Rick Statham will officiate. A visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the church. The interment will take place on Saturday - 11:00 am at Crestlawn Cemetery in Copperhill, Tennessee.
