Lucina Margaret Mellott, widow of Matthew W. Mellott died April 5, 1939, at 5:15 a.m., Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter Anna M. Mason, East Lincoln Way, McConnellsburg.
Mrs. Mellott was the only daughter of the late Baltzer F. Deshong and Anna Wink Deshong of Licking Creek township, Fulton County, and was born June 29, 1843, being aged 95 years, 9 months and seven days. Mrs. Mellott lived and spent many years of her life in Licking Creek township with the exception of a few years in Hancock, Md.
She was one of the oldest, if not the oldest resident of the county.
She leaves the following surviving children, four sons and two daughters: Mrs. Anna M. Mason, McConnellsburg; William R. Mellott, Andover; Thomas G. Mellott, Memphis, Tenn.; James O. Mellott, Johnstown; also thirty-three grandchildren and forty-one great grandchildren.
Mrs. Mellott was a member of the Sideling Hill Christian Church. Her funeral was held Friday, April 7, 1939. Burial in Sideling Hill Christian cemetery, service being conducted by Rev. Thomas P. Garland.
