ENOCH ODELL
Enoch Odell was born 19 March 1776 in Shenandoah County, Virginia, son of Samuel Odell (II) and Elizabeth Job(e) Odell. With others of his family, Enoch moved from Virginia to the Smoky Mountain area of North Carolina-Tennessee. Odell family records are now located in Cocke and Jefferson County, Tennessee. He married Sarah Ramsey and they were the parents of nine children. (Rachel, born 15 April 1810 was number five). Enoch served under Andrew Jackson in the War of 1812 and sometime after that date he and other family members settled in the first district of White County, Tennessee, near Green Spring on the Caney Fork of the Cumberland River. This land may have been a military grant for service in the War of 1812.
It was in White county that the paths of the Bohannons and Odells crossed. Members of both families were to migrate together to Illinois then to Missouri. Bohannons and Odells (Odles) were some of the original owners of land opened for settlement in 1840 in what later became Wright and Laclede counties of Missouri.
Enoch Odell died in Laclede County and is buried in a private cemetery twelve miles south of Lebanon.

ENOCH O'DELL
Enoch O'Dell was born in Virginia, March 19, 1779. Enoch was the son of Samuel O'Dell, who was born January 16, 1750. Enoch was married to Sarah Ramsey. He was an old soldier in Jackson's war. Enoch moved to Tennessee and was the father of three sons and five daughters. Later he moved to Missouri where he died.
One of the sons of Enoch O'Dell was Samuel O'Dell, born in White County, Tennessee, October 30, 1800. He was of Scotch-Irish descent. Samuel was twice married. He was first married in White County, Tennesee, to Miss Cynthia Walker, who bore him seven chidlren. They immigrated to Illinois in 1830, and after residing in Macoupin County for six years, Cynthia died. Being discouraged by sickness, Samuel O'Dell immigrated to what is now Laclede County, Missouri in 1836, settling on the Osage Fork of the Gasconade River, ten miles south of Lebanon. He was married the second time in 1838 to Mary Devasure, who was of German descent. Mary was born in Maury County, Tennessee in 1815. She preceded Samuel to Laclede County by only a few months. Mary Devasure O'Dell and Samuel O'Dell were the parents of nine children. Samuel continued to reside on the Osage Fork of the Gasconade River until his death in 1881. He was one of the pioneer men of this section of the county. Mary Devasure O'Dell died December 17, 1888. Samuel and Mary O'Dell were buried in a cemetery about twelve miles south of Lebanon, Missouri, known as the O'Dell cemetery. It is believed Enoch O'Dell was buried at this same location. Their graves have now been destroyed, much to our sadness, by the modern mechanization of farming.
Johnathan O'Dell, son of Samuel O'Dell and Cynthia (Walker) O'Dell was born May 2, 1828. Jonathan was married to Sarah J. Calton on February 16, 1851. They were the parents of eleven children: infant twins (names unknown), William H., Lisa Ann (O'Dell) Overland, Martha Adeline (O'Dell) Lorance, Mary Angeline (O'Dell) Younger, Abraham Franklin, Sarah J., Letha Emily (O'Dell) Lawson, John Isaac, and Jonathan Thomas. Sarah J. (Calton) O'Dell died April 12, 1874, and was buried at the O'dell Cemetery located 12 miles south of Lebanon, Mo. Jonathan was then married to Tempy E. Dennis on March 21, 1878. They were the parents of seven children: Rebecca E. (O'Dell), Dennis, James S., George W., Charles H., Nancy C. (O'Dell) Sharp, Syntha Eva (O'Dell) Randals, and Lillian May (O'Dell) Hill. Tempy E. (Dennis) O'Dell died August 7,
