He had a career that spanned from 1913-1957. He's mostly remembered by silent films fans and French cinema fans as Oscar Mazamette in the 1915 French silent epic, "Les Vampires" in which he co-starred with Musidora, Édouard Mathé & Jean Ayme & was directed by Louis Feuillade. Another of his notable performances was as Cocantin in another silent epic also directed by Feuillade called "Judex" (1916) which featured many members of the Les Vampires cast. Marcel acted in other films as well including Mon Oncle (1917) & Aide-toi (1918). He also starred in a series of film shorts called Serpentin where he played the title role. Some of his later films were Le Crime de Monsieur Lange (1936), La Nuit fantastique (1942) & Tabusse (1949). His last role was an unbilled part as a chess player in the 1957 film Assassins et voleurs. He also had two writing credits to his name which were Léonce et Poupette (1913) & Serpentin fait de la peinture (1922).
