Clearfield Gazette
We learn from the Journal on Aug 22 information was brought in town a man lying on the road near Nancy Ogden's about a mile and a half east of Clearfield The jury asserted that the deceased was of Frederik Schindel who some months since was employed as a bar keeper in the National Hotel in Tyrone City. The Jury rendered a verdict that "Frederick Schindel is passing along the public highway in Lawrence Township fell dead" That he had no marks of Violance upon his body and died of the visitation of God in a natural way. ""Poor Fred! There is no doubt that the demon of alchohol was the destruction.. He was buried on Friday in a grave yard on the hill away from kindered and home with strangers only to pity his sad and mournful end. It is creditable to the officers and others who was called upon to take an active part in the case that they had him decently interred.
