Major League Baseball Player. For nine seasons (1980 to 1988), he played at the outfielder position with the Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants. Born Edward James Milner, he excelled at wrestling and football during his high school years, but chose to pursue a professional career in baseball. He enrolled at Muskingum College but suffered an injury before ever playing a game. In spite of this, he was selected by the Reds during the 21st round of the 1976 Amateur Draft. He marked his Major League debut with Cincinnati on September 2, 1980. In 1983, he produced a career-high 131 hits with 41 stolen bases. In 804 career regular season games, he compiled 607 hits with a .253 lifetime batting average. Sadly, Milner struggled with cocaine addiction and damaged what could have been a much more successful career. He was the cousin of former Major League player John Milner.
