The Eaton family eventually settled in Concordia, Kansas, and Bennie attended schools there. He is a member of the Concordia High School Class of 1955 and shortly before his death he had the pleasure of attending his sixty year high school class reunion.
Bennie was married to Carolyn Pracht, but later divorced. On January 28, 1995, he married Jane "Janey" Githens who survives him.
Bennie worked as an automobile mechanic for many years. He had been employed in both Topeka and Lawrence for Wal-Mart, TG&Y, K-Mart and Rose Muffler Company.
Bennie served in the Kansas National Guard and was a member of the Lawrence Masonic Lodge and the NRA. He and Janey also volunteered their time with the annual MDA Telethon. He was a fan of professional football and Nascar racing.
In addition to his wife, Janey, Bennie is survived by his brother Terry Eaton; his sister Linda Yingling; his five children and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tom Eaton and his sister Paula Rockhold.
Celebration of Bennie's life was scheduled October 16, 2015, at Dove Cremation and Funeral Services. Masonic Rites conducted by Lawrence Masonic Lodge.
