John McCullough "Mac" Hemingway, 76, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at his residence.

Mr. Hemingway was born June 18, 1930, in Hamlet, North Carolina, a son of the late Maxie Clifford Hemingway and the late Hessie McCullough Hemingway.

He grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School. He retired after forty-five years employment with International Paper Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Andrews, a Deacon, and a former Chairman of the Building Committee and the Property Committee of the church.

Mr. Hemingway was predeceased by a sister, Belle H. Howell.

He was survived by a daughter, Kimberly H. Warren of Mullins; a son, John M. (Virginia) Hemingway, Jr., of Fork; a brother, Clifford E. Hemingway of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, Bryan McClullough Warren and John Clifford Warren, both of Mullins, and Jennifer Hemingway of Fork; several nieces; and a nephew.

Funeral services were Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in First Baptist Church of Andrews. The Rev. Donald P. Sapp officiated. Burial, directed by Mayer Funeral Home, followed in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
