Mrs. Miriam Bryan Hemingway Gasque, 82, of Mullins, SC, wife of Joseph Gasque, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Carolina Hospital System of Florence after an illness.

Mrs. Gasque was born October 23, 1932, in Marion County, a daughter of the late James E. Bryan, Sr., and the late Nina Skipper Bryan.

She was an English teacher at Andrews High School and at Palmetto Middle School in Mullins. She was active in the Marion Baptist Association and Gapway Baptist Church.

She was survived by her husband of the home; a daughter, Kimberly (Kenny) Nobles of Aynor; and a son, John M. Hemingway, Jr., of Fork; a stepdaughter, Andra G. (Greg) Enzor of Florence; three grandchildren, Bryan M. Warren, John C. Warren, and Jennifer Hemingway; two step-grandchildren, Colin Enzor and Anna Britt Enzor; a brother, James E. (Madge) Bryan, Jr., of Myrtle Beach; and a special friend, Virginia Hemingway.

The family received friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2015, in Gapway Baptist Church CLC Building.

Graveside services followed at 11:30 a.m. in Red Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Bailey officiated. The services were directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
