WINSTON-SALEM - Our beloved mother, Bernadette Knepper Lund, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on March 14, 1914 to the late Bernard Knepper and Anna Gordon Knepper. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Harold, and her sister, Lorena Root. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. Bernadette (Bernie) was a graduate of Academy High School, Erie, PA. She was the Corporate Secretary of Pfaff's Inc. in Winston-Salem for many years and continued to work part time for the company until well into her 80's. She was active in her church community as a Eucharistic Minister, Past President and Treasurer of the Golden Club and a member of the St. Theresa's Guild. She enjoyed reading and playing cards with her wonderful friends. She will be deeply missed by her children, Marilyn Brucki and Harold Lund and his wife, Mary, her three grandsons, Michael Lund and wife, Ashley, Andrew Lund and wife, Tiffany, David Lund and wife, Susannah, her granddaughter, Mary Ellen (Missy) Lund and her great-grandchildren, Hayden, Grey, Lily and Ford. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be conducted at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Winston-Salem, N.C. at 11:00AM on Monday, March 15, 2010. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Leo the Great Catholic Church Building Fund, 355 Springdale Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27104 in honor of the love and support she received from its members and clergy or a charity of your choice.
