HIGH POINT - Mrs. Genevieve Hrenko, 88, died Monday October 22, 2012 in Pennybyrn at Maryfield, a retirement community. She was born November 5, 1923 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the daughter of Leonard Ciemniecki and Catherine Konowski Ciemniecki. She lived in Winston-Salem since 1957 until recently moving to High Point. An active member of St. Leo the Great Church Ladies Guild, she was a compassionate person who volunteered with the "Pink Ladies" at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, the Red Cross blood bank, and enjoyed a good game of bridge or golf. Gen was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed by her many friends and family including her deeply devoted husband of 65 years, George Hrenko, their two children Joan Hrenko Novak of Durham, NC and Jerry Hrenko of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida; four grandchildren Scott and Steven Novak, Laura Myers, and Meagan Hrenko. A funeral mass will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Winston-Salem, NC. Memorial contributions may be made to Maryfield Resident Care Center, 109 Penny Road, High Point, NC 27260.
