Phebe was the daughter of John Holland and Mary Kirkland. She married Nathaniel George Washington Brown, a school teacher from NY. At the time Phebe married Nathaniel, she already had two children who went by the Holland name. Her oldest child was three years old when they married. Phebe, and Nathaniel, had five children together. Nathaniel died sometime after 1853. Nathaniel's burial is unknown. Phebe, settled in Wayne County, MS. Most of her children raised their families in Wayne County.
