Audrey Wendland Ross, age 94, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2006 in a Kerrville care center.
She was born June 5, 1912 in Bay City, Michigan to John and Kathryn Wendland. She married Richard C. Ross in 1933. He preceded her in death in 1969. Audrey graduated from the University of Illinois in 1934 and was a substitute foreign language high school teacher as well as a homemaker.
Audrey was a resident of Bloomington/Normal, Illinois from 1948-1996 when she moved to Kerrville, Texas.
In Blooming/Normal, she was a member of the Normal History Club, Travel Club, Scroll and Fan. She served on the Day Nursery Board, was a member of Friends of Normal Public Library and worked for Red Cross and United Fund in past years. She was also a member of the Epiphany Church in Normal. In Kerrville, she was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church.
She is survived by sons, Mark C. Ross and wife, Janice of Kerrville, Texas and Richard J. Ross and wife, Annette of Foley, Alabama; granddaughter, Michelle Ross and husband, Steve; nieces, Kathy Fedun of Westerville, Ohio, Janice Harvey of Peoria, Illinois and Mary Karen Szullo of Houston, Texas.
A visitation will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville on Friday, July 21, 2006 from 4-6 p.m.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 28, 2006, 10 a.m. at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington, Illinois.
