The Monumento Nacional de Santa Cruz del Valle de los Caidos ("National Monument of the Holy Cross of the Valley of the Fallen") is a memorial site erected at Cuelgamuros near Madrid, Spain, to honor those killed in the Spanish Civil War. Over 30,000 soldiers of both the National and Republican forces are buried at site; the tomb of Falangist leader José Antonio Primo de Rivera is also there. The memorial includes an underground church and the tallest memorial cross in the world, a 152.4 metre-high construction of stone.
