John Harrison married Jane Ann "Jensie" Cunningham on 15 May 1834 in Mercer County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Joseph & Mary [--?--] Cunningham who lived in Mercer Co, KY. John & Jensie's first 2 children, James (b- 21 Nov 1835) and Mary (b- 27 Dec 1838) were both born in Kentucky. Then the family moved to Illinois where George was born 21 Dec 1839 near Rushville, Schuyler County, Illinois. Then the family moved again, where Edward was b- 28 Feb 1841 near Carthage, Hancock County, Illinois. Sometime after his birth and before the 1850 census, Jane died, as John was enumerated alone with all 4 children. John died 13 Mar 1861 in Bear Creek Township, Hancock County, Illinois at the age of 55 years, 11 months, 26 days.

John did marry Mrs. Emily (Spangler) Donahue (spelt Donahoo on record) on 29 Jun 1856 in Hancock County, Illinois. In the 1860 census for Bear Creek Twp., Hancock Co, IL John and Emily are enumerated with 2 of his sons, George and Edward, plus their son, Thomas and Emily's 2 children, Edward & Margaret Donahue. (Lots of spelling errors on the scan though).

John and Jane's first born son and wife, James and Jemima (Phelps) Harrison are also buried in this cemetery. The question remains, was Jane (Cunningham) Harrison, also buried here when she died sometime after the 28 Feb 1841 birth of son Edward Paxton Harrison and the 1850 census.
