Mary Rebecca "Mayme" Cole was the daughter of Charles Edward Cole and Mary Catherine Nichols. After her parents died, she lived with her sister, Nellie Pauline Cole Knisell and Nellie's husband, Edward Knisell. Nellie, Edward and Mayme are all buried together. Retired in 1955, Mayme was a chief Yoemenette of the US Navy, located at Charlestown, MA Navy Yard.
