Mitchell Glass, Sr. was born July 23, 1911 to Napoleon Bonapart Glass and Anna Eliza Henderson-Glass in Mandeville, Miller County, Arkansas.

Grandpa Glass was a Christian and a faithful member of Hall's United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee and steward until his death on May 18, 1990. He was a member of the United States Navy and a World War II Veteran and was retired from Red River Army Depot.
